La Encantada Vineyard
Tucked along the Santa Rosa Hills between Buellton and Lompoc, in the Sta. Rita Hills American Viticulture Appellation (AVA), La Encantada Vineyard lies in a cool climate growing region defined by the east to west mountain range which pulls the maritime air and fog rolling in from the Pacific Ocean. Planted on rich sandy loam and ancient alluvial/marine deposits, this site offers beautiful expressions of Pinot Noir. I’m truly grateful to have the opportunity to work with Richard Sanford, the heart behind La Encantada Vineyard, and one of the pioneers of this highly acclaimed AVA.
Solomon Hills Vineyard
On a west facing slope within the Santa Maria Valley AVA sits Solomon Hills Vineyard, planted on very well drained sandy loam. One of the cooler vineyard sites within the appellation due to the close proximity of the Pacific Ocean and onshore airflows, Chardonnay off this ranch exhibits intensely rich flavors from small berries and high naturally acidities. ‘Phelan’s Grove’ is dedicated to the entire team at Solomon Hills Vineyard for their focus and hard work in growing the best possible fruit, essential to crafting exceptional wines.
